Hi There
I installed laminate in my stacked townhome and the neighbour downstairs has began to have issues with noise s
aying my underlay is not thick enough... I have
installed IIC level 71 from Sweden and was advised that I have done everything correctly... I am asked by my condo Corp to change my floors which I don't think is a fair treatment... should I hire someone to come see my floors and get another opinion? Thanks kindly

Hi Magda,
Laminates make noise. I would ask if the noises are everywhere or heard in areas.
remember: the IIC Level 71 cushion is one thing; but the entire floor assembly must meet sound ratings of IIC 71, not just the cushion.
Buying a cushion does not equate to the entire floor assembly meeting IIC Level 71 Sound requirements.

You may have to replace the laminate with a quieter flooring, like Coretec LVT or carpet.
