I just had laminate flooring taken up because there was mold underneath. I have had the air tested in my bedroom and bathroom and it definitely had active mold. The house that we purchased was vacant for four years, and unair-conditioned during all that time. It is in the state of Florida. The tile installer got very upset because I wanted a mold killer/disinfectant, which comes in 1 gallon containers, to be used on the floor prior to any installation. He said he doesn’t know what it is and would never agree to use it. He wants to install my new tile over the mold. To me that is not acceptable. Is it OK to install new tile over mold?

Omg. The floor should have been allowed to dry and the mold cleaned up

Find another installer. Do not install over mold. Have it removed professionally
