Started installing all types of flooring in 1983, worked as an apprentice for 2 years before becoming an independent installer of carpet,vct,vinyl, wood and laminates
Went from installation to doing repairs and pre-installation inspections for retailers, builders and consumers in 2001.
The pre-inspections included moisture testing and sub floor analysis to provide information and resolutions to the interested party prior to the installation of wood, ceramic,vinyl tile and sheet goods and carpet.
I attended FCITS in the spring of 2006 to become a Certified Carpet Inspector, I added the hard surface certification in November of 2006.
My experience in the construction side of the flooring business has helped me greatly in my career as an inspector, especially in the inspection of wood and other hard surface flooring.
I carry my installation tools with me to be able to perform repairs while onsite, no second trips due to being un-prepared.
I travel the entire state, I have a second office located on the west side of the state, just north of Grand Rapids, MI.
This allows me to cover more of the state and reduce mileage charges.
The floor tells the story, if you want an honest, unbiased inspection then I am the inspector you need.

My formal education took place on the floor, starting with floor preparation and installation of all types of flooring. If you want a top of the line inspection than you need someone that has been there and done that, not someone that has read a book on installation.
